Busy. Busy. Busy... but still time for growth

Well, so far I haven't worked on my "craftyness", but my sewing machine is set up and ready to go. Last week I was very blessed by my husband. I was relaxing on the couch after the kids went to bed. Adam was back in the bedroom. He said he was getting his dress clothes in the laundry for next week. After a little while he came out and told me he had a surprise. He had gotten a table from the basement (one I was convinced wouldn't fit on our bedroom) and set it up in our room. He even got my sewing machine out and all ready to go! Unfortunately I haven't had time to use it (and I'm not making excuses). Today I started a new job at Great Clips. I'll be working about 34 hrs a week. For now I am also still cleaning to post office. I am hoping to keep the post office until the end of April. We are getting back on track with our "Total Money Makeover" so I'm hoping to get our "Baby Step 1" established within the month. I did however h...

Craftyness

Well, I'm continuing my quest to rediscovery. Next on my list of things I used to enjoy doing is being crafty. I used to paint a little and I really like to sew. This week, my goal is to get organized (enough) to create a space so my sewing machine is accessible.  When it doesn't have a permanent residing place, its such a hassle to get it out of the closet, clean off the table, set it up, sew for a small amount of time, then put it all away. I just don't even want to mess with it. First I need to find a table to put it on. I need a skinny table that can be up against the wall in my bedroom so it doesn't take up so much room. I'm going to do some garage sale/ resale shop hopping this weekend and hopefully will find one. You may be asking, "Will you sew?" Well here's my to do list so far: 1. While I was pregnant with Belle, I started make curtains for her and Gavin's rooms. Th...

Realization Week

This last week as been a week of realization. Its been kind of step-by-step... but it all finally connected and came together Friday morning while I was cleaning the post office. Step 1: Last Friday I had a meeting at job #2(not the post office). In the meeting we were talking about self-betrayal. If you feel you should do something, and you don't do it, you are betraying yourself. You end up feeling guilty about not doing what you feel you should have. This made me realize that I do this a lot. More often then not, I think of things I should be doing, and choose not to do them. For example, instead of doing the dishes yesterday (which I really feel I should have done) I choose to watch a daytime talk show....which did nothing but make me worry about what the teenagers will be like when Gavin and Belle go to high school... Then later that night, as I walked by the sink full of dishes, I felt guilty about not doing the dishes. I was frustrated and in a bad mood about it, and ...

I have a blog!

Well, it's official. I'm a blogger. I'm starting this blog as a start to rediscovering me. I'm starting to do things that I enjoyed at some point or another, but for some reason I no longer do. Mommyhood and just life in general, has seemed to take over and run off with my sense of self. So.... here we go. One thing I used to enjoy was writing. Prior to married life and kiddos, I always kept a journal. I would write about anything and everything. I would write poetry, prayers, and just random things I wanted to remember. This is where the blog comes in. This is mostly for me, but I don't mind if others want to wander along with me.
